Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is dreamgirl.pro?
dreamgirl.pro is an automated spoken analysis platform designed to explore spoken moments. Using The Studio, you can record a spoken moment directly within the platform or upload an existing audio or video recording. Spoken segments are processed through a structured workflow that creates reversed audio, provides a rendered transcript of the perceived reversal, and generates a complimentary interpretive Gist. The Gist follows the Reverse Speech methodology developed by David John Oates and is intended as a tool for reflection, exploration, and gaining another perspective on spoken expression.
How is dreamgirl.pro related to Reverse Speech?
dreamgirl.pro is an independent platform built around the Reverse Speech methodology developed by David John Oates. We respectfully acknowledge David John Oates as the founder of Reverse Speech and credit his pioneering work throughout the platform. dreamgirl.pro is not affiliated with, certified by, or endorsed by David John Oates or Reverse Speech Pty Ltd.
Is this science or pseudoscience?
Reverse Speech is an emerging field of study and is not currently accepted as mainstream linguistic or psychological science. dreamgirl.pro presents the process transparently and does not claim that reversed speech reveals objective truth. Instead, The Studio offers a tool for reflection, exploration, and examining spoken moments from another perspective.
Using The Studio
What kind of recordings work best?
The Studio is designed to explore spoken moments. For the most focused experience, use a short, clear recording that captures a single thought, statement, or expression. Recommended lengths:
- 1–3 seconds for a simple introduction — saying your full name is a great place to start
- 7–16 seconds for a focused analysis
- Up to 30 seconds as you become familiar with the process
Recordings with natural speech, clear audio, minimal background noise, and a single speaker generally provide the best conditions.
What happens if the word “silence” appears?
In some instances, the word “silence” may be displayed. This is a normal part of the experience and does not indicate a software error. Not every spoken segment will produce a recognizable rendered reversal.
What does the rendered reversal mean?
The rendered reversal is a linguistic representation of the perceived reversed communication, not a literal phonetic transcript. In some instances, the spoken reversal heard in the recording and the written rendering may differ in wording while expressing related meaning or themes.
What do I receive?
After your spoken moment is processed, The Studio provides:
- A processed video with reversed speech synchronized from the original recording
- Reversed audio segments
- A rendered transcript of the perceived reversed speech
- A complimentary interpretive Gist
- An interpretive summary
- The Story of the Reversal reel
- Access to The Living Archive
- Privacy controls
How long does processing take?
For shorter recordings, uploads are typically quick, and processing is often completed within seconds. Most recordings are completed within about a minute after processing begins.
What formats are supported?
The Studio supports common audio and video formats, including MP4, MOV, WAV, MP3, M4A, and others. You can record directly within The Studio or upload an existing file.
Recording Guidelines & Analysis Notes
The quality of a Reverse Speech analysis depends greatly on the recording itself. The following guidelines can help provide the clearest and most consistent experience.
- Speak Naturally — Spontaneous conversation and genuine reflections generally provide the richest material for analysis.
- Avoid Rehearsed Speech — Memorized or heavily practiced speech may produce fewer clear reversals.
- Emotion Adds Depth — Recordings made during moments of genuine emotion often provide richer material for exploration.
- Keep Recordings Focused — Brief, focused recordings are often more effective.
- Use Clear Audio — A quiet environment with minimal background noise and one speaker at a time provides the best conditions.
- Don’t Try to Create Reversals — Simply speak naturally.
- Understanding (Silence) Displayed — In rare instances, the word “silence” may be displayed during the process. This does not necessarily mean there is no audible content; in some cases, you may still hear reversed speech or other audio elements. More insight into the meaning and context of (silence) can be found within The Gist as part of the overall analysis.
- Multiple Interpretations May Occur — In some cases, a reversal may be heard in more than one way. Reverse Speech can occasionally combine elements of two words, creating what may sound like a hybrid word or blended expression. These variations are considered within the overall analysis and interpretation process.
- Preparing YouTube Clips for Best Results — You can begin by uploading the full YouTube URL and allowing the analysis to process the video. If the results do not provide many reversals, or if you would like a more focused analysis, consider dividing the video into shorter segments before uploading. Clips of approximately 7–16 seconds are recommended for the most focused results, depending on the length and content of the original video.
- Avoid Heavily Edited Audio — Frequent cuts, clipped words, or overlapping voices can interrupt continuity.

Billing & Tape Time

Is there a free tier?
Yes. When you create an account, you receive 3 free minutes to begin exploring. After that, 1 additional free minute is added each month. These free minutes never expire. No credit card is required.
Do minutes expire?
No. Your free signup minutes, monthly free minutes, and purchased Tape Time never expire.
Interpretations & Gist
Is the interpretation guaranteed to be correct?
No. Reverse Speech analysis is an interpretive process, not a measurement of objective truth. The rendered transcript documents the perceived reversed speech, while the Gist provides an interpretive perspective. See the full disclaimer.
Who writes the interpretive Gist?
The Gist is generated by an AI language model following the Reverse Speech methodology developed by David John Oates, including concepts from the Reverse Speech Metaphor Dictionary. It is provided as a complimentary interpretive component of The Studio experience.
Why might the written rendering and spoken reversal differ?
Reverse Speech is inherently multidimensional. The rendered reversal is a linguistic representation of the perceived reversed communication, not a literal phonetic transcript. In some instances, the spoken reversal and written rendering may differ in wording while expressing related meaning or themes.
